Subject Overview

Information Communication Technology (or ICT) broadly encompasses the entirety of our ever changing and rapidly developing technological and digital society. The proliferation of ICT has influenced almost every aspect of our lives and in our modern world the need for digital literacy has never been more integral to navigating our daily lives whether that is socially or professionally.

As our young people grow and develop we need to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to traverse an ever changing and rapidly developing ICT landscape. ICT education is focused on giving students the skills and confidence to find and analyse information as well as equipping them with the knowledge and tools to enable them to communicate effectively across many different forms. We hope to provide an environment where students can embrace modern technologies and use them in a manner which is responsible and gives each of them an opportunity to explore a wide range of topics logically and creatively, and develops their abilities to source reliable information, present their ideas and to feel proficient in incorporating ICT across others areas within their curriculum and in their personal life.
