Prize Winners for Lurgan Show 2017
Every year our school Art & Design Department submit entries for Lurgan Show in June. I am very pleased to report that for yet another year we have been very successful with the number of awards received.
Mrs Houston and Mrs Bryson choose work from many classes to put forward each year.
I am delighted to report that for the second year running, our school Art & Design Department won the overall Secondary Schools’ cup for the Secondary school achieving the most points.
The Ballydougan Pottery Award was also won by our school for coming first overall in ceramics. The prize was a plate sponsored by Ballydougan Pottery and was a great achievement for the Art & Design Department.
We were also informed earlier this week that Aiden Nesbitt won a cup in joint position with a pupil from Lurgan Junior High School for pupil gaining the most points for their art work. Aidan will receive this cup in six months but Lurgan Show officials have awarded Aidan with an additional prize of £10:00. Aiden if you could now come on stage and receive this from Mr Brown……
In addition to this success, a total of 21 prizes were awarded, some of which were for drawing and painting and others for ceramics. Not everyone gained an award, but well done to everyone who had an entry submitted. J
