As part of their studies of Ireland in the 17th Century LSC Junior visited the Orange Heritage Museum, Schomberg house, in Belfast on Tuesday 15th May. During the visit pupils had the opportunity to learn about life as a Williamite soldier and dress in his uniform. Pupils also learnt a little about the creation of the Orange Order. One of the guides Helen also told pupils about medical treatment of the wounded in the 17th century – showing some items from a medical kit including a saw. Pupils also had the chance to view the new 1st WW exhibition in the museum – seeing a recreated trench and armoured car while playing a 1st WW board game. A great day was had by everyone and our thanks to Schomberg House for looking after us so well.
