Planetarium Trip and Lecture in Tandragee Library January 2016 – ‘Space Science in Action’ This month the Science Department brought all of Year 9 and LSC pupils on a trip to Armagh Planetarium to hear about the ISS Astronaut -Tim Peak, watch the Exploding Universe Show in the theatre and learn about the exhibits on display. The following week Year 9 Grp 1 were invited to an exhibition in Tandragee Library The talk, given by Professor Mark Bailey, the Director of Armagh Observatory was a result of the partnership between Libraries NI and the Armagh Observatory. The aim of the talk, “Earth’s Place in Space”, was to promote the travelling FETTU (‘From Earth To The Universe’ exhibition) and to inspire people of all ages with some of the most dramatic images and ideas of modern astronomy. Both trips were very inspiring and the pupils were able to hear and see Science in Action outside the classroom.
